Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are essential fatty acids for the human body, but the body can not make them, so they must come from food like the acai berry. These acids are essential to normal body function and lack of their nutrients in the body can lead to infertility, skin rashes, reduced growth and increased risk of infection. PMS and menopausal symptoms have been reported to improve with additional levels of the Omega fatty acids in the diet. Research to date has indicated improved symptoms in test groups where both placebos and Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids were used. The groups given the fatty acids reported some improvement over the placebo group.
Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are naturally occurring nutrients in the food we eat. Some foods have higher and better contents of the acids. The acai berry is an excellent source of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acid as well as high levels of nutrients, low levels of cholesterol and high fiber.
